Translation & Interpretation Services
Stafford Public Schools is committed to ensuring equitable access to information and communication for all families, especially those with limited English proficiency (LEP). Our Student Access and Opportunities department provides essential interpretation and translation services in alignment with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
The Translation and Interpreter Request Form is for internal staff use only and is now available on the Principal’s Hub. Families and community members who need translation or interpreter services should contact their school building directly for support.
To help you understand the services we provide, here are some important definitions:
- Interpretation: Spoken or signed communication between languages.
- Translation: Written communication converted from one language to another.
- Sight Translation: Reading a document aloud in another language.
We also utilize Language Link Assistance (LLA), a third party telephone interpretation service that provides on-demand interpretation in over 240 languages. It's a quick and effective resource for immediate language support. To assist with its use, we’ve shared the LLA Information & Guidelines along with a simple LLA slide presentation explaining how to access and use the service.
Thank you for helping us make our services more accessible.
