Welcome to Stafford Elementary ~ “Home of the Dolphins”

Welcome to Stafford Elementary School.  We are excited to have you be part of our amazing Dolphin Family.

I would like to introduce myself.  I am Stefanie Sanders the proud principal of Stafford Elementary School.  I appreciate you trusting your children to us and would like to share a little about myself.  I have been in the field of education for over 25 years. I have been a classroom teacher in both first and fourth grades, an assistant principal, as well as a principal for over 19 years.  During my career in education, my goals have always been to ensure high achievement for students and staff.  I am fortunate to come from a family where a strong work ethic and high expectations were the norm.

As principal, I work with the students and staff to constantly improve our performance and be the best school community we can be. Each day we work to prepare our students to perform in the highly diverse and technical environment of the twenty-first century.  In order to achieve this objective, it is imperative that we embrace an atmosphere that empowers the talents of both the children and the teaching staff to shine through daily.

Home and school communication is one way of achieving the high standards of education we all have for our students.  Twice a month I send out our SES Dolphin News newsletter via email.  We also utilize Blackboard connect to send important information to our families.  Please make sure that your ParentVue account is up to date with current email addresses and phone numbers.  We wouldn't want you missing any of the information we share.

We are here to help you and your family, so if you ever have any questions or concerns, always feel free to reach out to me.  You can call the school or email me at sanderssd@staffordschools.net.

We look forward to working with you!

Take care,
Stefanie Sanders

Hello Stafford Dolphins!

I am absolutely thrilled to join the Stafford Elementary family as your new Assistant Principal! It is an incredible honor to be part of a school community that is so deeply committed to student growth, collaboration, and creating a joyful learning environment.

I began my journey in education right here in Stafford County at Garrisonville Elementary, where I had the opportunity to serve as an elementary teacher and, most recently, as an Innovative Learning Coach. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside inspiring educators on initiatives like the report card revision committee, the standards-based grading steering committee, and the Mentor 360 steering committee. I’m passionate about using research-based instructional practices and innovative technology to bring learning to life for all students.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Mary Washington, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from George Mason University. But more than anything, I believe in building strong, supportive relationships—with students, families, and staff. Together, we can ensure every child feels seen, celebrated, and empowered to shine.

I can’t wait to dive into this new adventure with all of you. Go Dolphins!

Warmly,
Amanda Leonard

Welcome to Stafford Elementary School. Home of the Dolphins!

I am so excited to serve the Dolphin community as the Assistant Principal of Stafford Elementary School. I received my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Teaching from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2009. I have previously taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, and Third Grade in Fredericksburg City Public Schools and Third Grade in Prince William County. I received my administrative endorsement from University of Mary Washington. I started my administrative career in Essex County in 2019 as an assistant principal. I came to Stafford County Public Schools during the 2022-2023 school year as the AP of Stafford Elementary School and have loved every minute of it since. My husband and I currently live in Stafford County with our son Cole. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and experiencing new things.

I truly believe that we must be a team in order for our children to flourish and succeed. I look forward to partnering with each family over the next school year to ensure a positive educational experience for every student at Stafford Elementary School. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you may have throughout the school year. I look forward to a positive and successful year.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Rojohn
